For pupils:

YOU CAN LEARN KARATE FROM YOUR MASTER

BU IT WILL BE USELESS

IF THEN YOU'LL LEARN NOTHING FROM KARATE.

(Vincenzo Alibrandi)

For teachers:

MASTERS CAN'T TEACH ANYTHING TO ANYBODY,

THEY CAN ONLY HELP THOSE WHO WANT TO LEARN

SOMETHING FROM THEM.

(Vincenzo Alibrandi)

Motto: ICHI GO ICHI E

Note: ancient Japanese motto used by the Samurai as sort of a farewell during a feast that was held before a battle. Litterally it means "one occasion, one meeting". The meaning though goes far beyond to a sort of "any occasion to meet is unique and unrepeatable". The dramatic atmosphere that gave birth to this motto (the occasion to meet was "unique" because after the battle no one knew who was still alive and could therefore meet again) doesn't change its romantic aspect tha can apply it to any occasion of our life where acts, meetings, single moments or days remain unique and untouched,  moment after moment, meeting after meeting, day after day...

Proverb:

MIGI TE NI KATANA GA

HIDARI TE NI HON GA

(In the right hand the sword,

in the left hand the book)

Poem:

WITH MY FEET ON THE TATAMI

I BOW TO THE KAMIZA

THE EARTH IS UNDER

THE SKY IS ABOVE

(Fabio Bardanzellu - Katori Shinto Ryu Master)
